There are varying levels of assurance from Compilation and Review, which represent lower levels, to an Audit, which provides the highest level of assurance. Each level of service having a value for certain situations in your business.
An Audit, due to its depth and completeness, allows you to satisfy all interested parties of the credibility and integrity of your published financial information; facilitate on-time payment of all taxes; comply with banking covenants; detect and deter material fraud and error; and facilitate the purchase and sale of businesses.
A Review provides limited assurance that based primarily on analytical procedures and inquires made of the management team, that no material modifications of your financial information are necessary. A review does not include review of internal controls, verification of data from third parties or physical inspection of assets.
A Compilation consists of assisting management in presenting financial information in the form of financial statements but with no expression of objective assurance of its accuracy. Our knowledge of accounting principles and a general understanding of your business are used to provide observations of value from a financial perspective.
